Greensquare Ventures is led by experienced investment professionals with a proven track record in designing and structuring blended finance and sustainable investment products, and developing partnerships with investors, local operators, governments and multilateral banks.
Valeria Ramundo Orlando
Valeria Ramundo Orlando is a partner and co-founder at Greensquare Ventures. With more than 20 years of experience working at the nexus of finance, government and development, Valeria has been recognized as an authority in blended finance and conservation finance. Before founding Greensquare Ventures, Valeria led a non-profit’s Blended Finance Team where she signed pioneering agreements with multiple emerging economies to design blended finance vehicles. Prior to this role, Valeria was the treasurer of a multinational organization where she created and managed a USD$1 billion portfolio investing in environmental, social and governance (ESG) structured projects. Valeria has worked on municipal and state bond issuances for the State of California and the City of New York, and was a director of a private equity firm with a range of investments in energy markets and community-level economic development. Valeria earned her AB from Bryn Mawr College and a Master in Public Policy and Finance from the University of Southern California.
Manuel Bueno
Manuel Bueno is a partner and co-founder at Greensquare Ventures. With more than 10 years of impact investment and conservation finance experience in emerging markets, Manuel’s investment career spans Latin America, Africa and Asia, and a broad range of sectors, including agribusiness, fisheries, manufacturing and financial institutions. Before founding Greensquare Ventures, Manuel co-founded a pioneering fisheries Blended Finance Vehicle in the Philippines and Indonesia. He led the Fund’s capitalization, structuring and operations, and structured and negotiated its debt portfolio guarantee (winning USAID’s Development Credit Authority 2017 Deal of the Year Award), and developed and managed its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Framework, and Technical Assistance Facility. Manuel has also coauthored the “Principles for Investment in Sustainable Wild-Caught Fisheries”, launched in the World Ocean Summit in 2018 and adopted by a wide range of investors and stakeholders. Manuel earned his BSc at the London School of Economics and a Master of Research in Business at Tilburg University, the Netherlands.
